CAMELOT CAST CHOCK-FULL OF TALENT!

Camelot-boxAuditions have been heard, cast members have been selected, and rehearsals for “Camelot” are well underway!   The summer musical will run July 9, 10, 11, and 12, 2015 and is the second selection on the new SEASON TICKET – now available for the 2015 season. “Camelot” alone will be worth the price of admission.

With a local star-studded cast, including returning favorites, as well as seasoned chorus members, the cast of “Camelot” is chock-full of talent.  With newcomers on the scene and some summer camp alums jumping into their first main stage roles, you may very well know someone involved in this theatrical production.

The two leads in the show are definitely returning favorites.  Brian Miller, who played Tevye in “Fiddler on the Roof,” returns to our stage in the role of King Arthur.  After his debut with Soo Theatre, Miller thrilled audiences across the river in the Sault Comedy Guild’s “Les Misérables” as Jean Valjean, a.k.a. prisoner 24601.  Playing the lovely Guenevere is Sault native Lola Kennedy.  Kennedy recently played hat shop owner Irene Malloy in Sault Symphony’s “Hello, Dolly” and was most recently seen on our stage as the beloved Audrey in “Little Shop of Horrors.”

We are always thrilled to welcome new talent to our ranks.  Tenor, Leo Moore, a voice major at Algoma University, will play Sir Lancelot and Jon McEachern, Sault, Ontario resident, will play the comic role of King Pellinore.  Both of these fine gentlemen will be making their Soo Theatre debuts.

Other featured performers include David Walsh (Merlyn), Tom Cash (Sir Dinidan), Rachel Reinke (Nimue), Kyle Flickinger (Mordred), Lindsey McCullough (Lady Anne), Cindy Smith (Lady Sybil), Ethan Twardy (Sir Lionel), Trevor Headley (Sir Sagramore) and Riley Wilson (Tom of Warwick).  Wilson has been a regular participant in STP’s annual summer camp offerings and is now taking his talents to the main stage.  Flickinger returns for his second main stage role, his first as The Artful Dodger “Oliver” in 2009.

The fabulous actors playing the Knights of the Round Table are Gerry Boire, Ben Deatrick, Ross Smith, Mason Stierley, Lamar Styer, David Prince, Isaiah Garcia, and Gage Komarnizki. The lovely Ladies in Waiting are Cara LaFaver, Beth Engle, Ann Carey, Gabbie Pepin, Hollyann Beck, Sally Schremp, Nancy Kirkpatrick, Coleeta Cash, Karen Gibson, Susan Kirkman, Lyndsey Johnson, Joyce Nadolny, Torye Anderson, Trinity Bauer, and Sally Schremp.  The two children in the chorus will be played by Eli and Lillian LaFaver.

The May 30 performance featuring the Northland Barbershop Chorus and Lock Cities Chorus of Sweet Adeline’s kicks of the first offering on the season ticket. “Camelot” in July and Mozart’s “Don Giovanni” in August come next on the summer ticket, with Mike Dempsey’s “A Tribute to Judy Garland” wrapping up the ticket on September 3.   A really affordable way to enjoy the highlights of the season, in addition to a convenient, single ticket for four individual shows, the SEASON TICKET can’t be beat!  See you at the shows!
