Yoga for Musicians this Winter at Soo Theatre

The Soo Theatre is proud to announce a new offering in their studios this winter. Yoga for Musicians will be taught on Thursdays by Lola Kennedy. Kennedy, known for her accomplished performances on the stage of Soo Theatre, is now bringing her yoga studies to the studios.

Lola is currently enrolled in the Be the Love Yoga Teacher Training School through Yoga Roots in Petoskey, Michigan taught by Tiffany Lenau. You may already know Lola as a belly dance instructor, teaching classes at Northern Life Yoga Studio, Jade Wellness Studio in Ontario, and most recently a guest instructor at Yoga Roots in Petoskey.

Yoga is for everyone; especially the musician, with their very specific areas of physical exertion. Kennedy has geared this first series towards all musicians, covering a a broad range of stretches and breathing that would benefit any performing artist. All bodies may attend this class, developed for the beginner or the more active person, including those straining while they are sitting for long periods of time. This class will benefit those who sit at a desk, as well as the active musician.

The current session runs on Thursday nights from 6:15-7:15 p.m. through March 22 at the Soo Theatre Project at 534 Ashmun Street in downtown Sault, Michigan. Call and reserve your spot today.

Don’t forget to check our website – sootheatre.org – for all of our ongoing private lessons and classes, including First Steps in Music on Saturdays from 10:00-10:45 a.m. with instructor Meg Boucher. Private lessons can begin at any time during the year based on teacher availability.
