The Soo Theatre Project always has something for everyone all year long and this coming week is no exception. Not one, but three opportunities for children!
- Elementary Arts Exploration is a camp for elementary aged students. It runs from Monday, July 27 to Friday, July 31 from 10am to 3pm. Have your child receive a taste of different art types during this camp – hence “exploration” in the title of the camp.
- Pre-school Music, Art and Play is a camp for pre-school aged students. It runs from Monday, July 27 to Thursday, July 30 from 9:30 to 12:00 with a showcase of the participants’ artwork Thursday, July 30 at 11:30 am. This camp highlights the talents of two kind, loving, patient, and local artists Randy Krause and Cathy Wilkinson who will eagerly teach the young ones!
“ARF!” Musical Elementary Camp is for elementary aged students. Rehearsals and performance are in Pickford. This camp runs from Monday, July 27 to Friday, July 31 from 10am to 3pm. The spectacular bow-wow performance will be Friday, July 31 at 2 pm. Many “dog” actors and actresses are needed!
Be sure to contact the STP office tomorrow morning to register for these camps as they all begin tomorrow.
Those involved with The Soo Theatre Project from students to adult performers to teachers to board members are thrilled with the opportunities STP offers its communities. The high quality of camps, productions, and lessons on and off the historic stage are all a blessing to the Eastern Upper Peninsula communities.
Future productions and events at STP:
August Mozart’s “Don Giovanni” will be on stage August 5, 7, & 9. The Wednesday and Friday shows are at 7:30 pm while the Sunday show is at 3 pm.
- Mike Dempsey is returning to The Soo again this year! Be sure to put Thursday, September 3 on your calendar for the “Mike Dempsey Presents A Tribute To Judy Garland” show! Songs such as “Somewhere Over The Rainbow” and “The Trolley Song” are sure to be heard this evening!
