The Academy of Performing Arts and The Soo Theatre Project are collaborating to offer three ballroom dance workshops! One of “Dancing With the Stars” Dance Instructors, Joe Sbar, will teach you at the Big Bear Studio this November.
Joe will begin with the very ballroom basic steps and then progress as the group is comfortable. Before you know it, you’ll be ballroom dancing!
Just imagine yourself knowing the dance steps to dances such as Rumba, Cha Cha, Salsa, and the Waltz. Imagine yourself being the envy of others as you smoothly make your way on the dance floor. Imagine yourself enjoying these dances for the rest of your life with confidence!
Join the dancing fun this November on Thursdays 6, 13, and 20. Beginner dancers to experienced dancers are welcome. No partner is necessary. Bring socks to the workshops if you don’t have dancing shoes. Call The Soo Theatre Project office for more details.
Also in November and back by popular demand is the STP mystery dinner hosted at The Antler’s Restaurant on East Portage Street.
“A Feast To Die For” unravels the questions: who was Victoria Lester, why did she die, and who wanted her dead? Enjoy the performance while you eat your delicious meal, and decide for yourself who did what as the story unfolds before you.
Literally, the story unfolds before you, behind you, and beside you! This is what creates the inviting and suspenseful mystery dinner environment at Antler’s Restaurant. The characters move around the dining room and use the dining room as the stage. You just gotta experience it! Reservations and tickets are required and can be obtained through the Soo Theatre Project office.
Two Friday nights ago, STP artist Randy Krause conducted an “Arty Party” for ambitious artists-wanna-be’s desiring to try something new. The attendees wanted to learn how to produce an acrylic canvas creation while being guided by a professional artist. Randy Krause delivered!
It was so much fun that another evening has already been established: Friday, November 28 at 7 pm. Just like the other “Arty Party,” Randy will guide you step by step to produce your creation by the evening’s end. What you paint, you take home! Contact the STP office for more information. Limit of 10 participants.
