Auditions for Humperdinck’s fairy tale opera HANSEL AND GRETEL will take place during Sidewalk Sales this Friday, July 26, from 1-4 p.m., at the Soo Theatre. Rehearsals will run Aug. 4-13 and performances will held on Aug. 15, 16, 17 and 18.
Casting:
GINGERBREAD CHILDREN (ages 6-young adult)
ADULT CHORUS (final scene at the end of the show)
SANDMAN (Sings up to a high F)
DEW FAIRY (sings up to a high A)
(The Sandman and Dew Fairy will be double cast)
Cast members will also be chosen from participants in our upcoming vocal workshop for Hansel, Gretel, Mother, Father, and the Witch. Scenes from the opera will be rehearsed during the workshop and performed at the annual Vocal Gala on Aug. 9.
Registrations are still available for the vocal workshop, which runs Monday through Friday, Aug. 5-9, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The Vocal Gala will be held at the theatre at 7 p.m. on Aug. 9.
