Looking back on your life from an adult perspective, you see the paths not taken. Certainly, some paths were not for you and were positive decisions! And, then were there those paths…the unrealized passions or talents not pursued.
So now in December of 2015, imagine those paths are open to you again! Imagine the possibilities!
Not only imagine the possibilities for you, but for your children and your grandchildren. So many options exist at The Soo Theatre Project so that all passions and talents are pursued, developed, and realized…at any age.
The Soo Theatre Project’s mission is to provide arts education which includes quite a variety of passions and talents to pursue at any level: voice, dance, painting, instruments, and performance.
These possibilities in more detail: Dance – Pre-Ballet, Ballet I, Intermediate Ballet, Pointe Ballet, POMS, Tap 1, Intro to Acro/Hula-Hoop, Acro/Hula-Hoop Recreation; Music – Piano, Voice, Guitar, Ukulele, Cello, Bass, Violin, Viola, Suzuki Violin, Fiddling, Beginner String Ensemble, New Horizon’s Strings Group, Soo Cello Crew, Cantus Celli, STARS Youth Orchestra, STARS Advanced Orchestra, First Steps in Music Toddlers & Preschool, First Steps in Music Early Elementary; Art – Arty Parties.
And, this is just what is offered during the year till May! There is a constant flurry of activity during the summer months as The Soo Theatre Project entertains its communities performance after performance and camp after camp all summer long.
Side note: The Soo Theatre Project is the entire non-profit organization located on 534 Ashmun Street. STARS, or Soo Theatre Arts Resource Studios, is a part of The Soo Theatre Project. STARS is the teaching part of STP.
Because The Soo Theatre Project was born over ten years ago in the Eastern Upper Peninsula, there’s no need for “I wish I would have…” because The Soo Theatre Project teachers already teach older students. In fact, many groups are just for older students.
Of course, there’s plenty of offerings for the younger crowd so that they will never say, “I wish I could’ve learned to dance, sing, play the ____________________ instrument, or paint.”
Instead, they will say, “Thank you for providing me lessons! Singing makes me happy! Dance makes my heart jump with joy! Playing the piano helps me concentrate better in school!”
With the New Year just around the corner, make a commitment to learn something new in 2016. Expand your horizons with an instrument with Dottie Case, Maggie Twining, Betty Struble, or Benjamin Guilder, better your singing voice Karen Hughes Beacom or Ronda McGreevy, paint a landscape with Randy Krause, and dance to your heart’s fulfillment with Jenna Perry.
All it takes is vision and a phone call to The Soo Theatre Project to begin the process of realizing your or your child’s or your grandchild’s passions and talents. Imagine the possibilities!
