Yes, The Soo Theatre Project promotes the arts, but just what are “the arts?” And, why are they important?
Art is any expression of one’s inner spirit. This can manifest in many ways – writing, painting, dancing, singing, performing, sculpting, etc. The Soo Theatre Project provides opportunity for this expression of one’s inner spirit.
Why is expression important? Inside all of us are ideas, creation, and inspiration (in-spirit). Allowing these to be expressed is pure joy. So, it’s all about joy! A few famous artists understood this well. Auguste Rodin, a French sculptor of the late 1800s said, “The main thing is to be moved, to love, to hope, to tremble, to live.” Henry Moore, a mid 1990s English artist and sculptor said, “To be an artist is to believe in life.” Pablo Picasso, a Spanish artist of the mid 1900s said, “Art washes away from the soul the dust of everyday life.”
So utilize the offerings at The Soo Theatre Project to express your inner spirit, your creation, your joy … and to wash away from your soul the dust of your everyday life.
